New Things

Hello weight-loss friends :)

Sorry I have been AWOL lately but I have started a new job.....yay me. It's been tough getting used to it but I am back now in full swing.

My posts will probably be written in advance and then published as my hours vary every week. I am really loving this job and hope to continue to be healthy throughout.

The first two weeks I ate loads of junk food or fast food to eat around my shifts and last week I barely ate at all but still the scales hardly moved.

Ah well this weeks a new week and I will try my best.

Stay motivated

The Sunday Realisation

We all have bold food and drinkies on the weekend, who doesn't? And we all get pretty lazy after all those lie ins and lazy days that are the weekend. Come Sunday you realise "oh god, what have I done?"

Don't let it get you down. There are still a few days left to make up for your weekend of boldness before Friday's weigh in.

Start fresh this Sunday or maybe even Monday but do not quit.

Finish what you started and do not let the weekend of madness stop you.

Beat the Mid-Week Downfall

Well it's Wednesday, middle of the week and possibly the place some of us may fall down. You should never give up no matter how far you have come, one day or two it doesn't matter, keep going. Two more days until the weekend.

My weight-loss week starts on a Friday morning after I weigh myself first thing. I have only two days to go until my first blog weigh in and I'm not about to let the mid-week slump beat me. Neither should you. Imagine only two/three more days until treat day. How good would your treat of choice taste after knowing you have completed another week of your journey and maybe even lost some weight? My weekly treats taste sooooo good when I know I have earned them, even the smallest weight loss counts towards my goal.

The thing that gets me through each day or motivates me to exercise is : "If I work my ass off today, tomorrow will be a lot easier."

Stay motivated.

Calories not clearly shown on labels/menus rant!!!

Something that really bothers me is that exact calories are not clearly shown on the front of food packaging and still not printed on food menus. There are a lot of menus and labels where it is shown and fair play to them but really in this day and age when obesity is seen everywhere, how can they not?

Maybe restaurants think people won't eat their food if they knew the amount of calories but seriously they need to own up and let people know what they are consuming. It's the same with food package labelling, people today are more health conscious, they count calories, pro-points or syns so help them out a little.

Since I started my weight loss journey I have been looking for healthier alternatives to the food I was eating. Many times I have read the nutritional content on the packaging wrong and ended up way over my calorie limit as the calorie content was misleading. It's very frustrating when you think you are doing good and then realise you messed it up. Thank god for MyFitnessPal or I would never have known.

I pretty sure I seen something on-line about trying to have calories shown on menus in Ireland as a regulation. This would be amazing!!

Any thoughts on this?

Start of The Week Motivation :)

Ah Monday, the day when everyone starts something new. Diets, losing weight, exercising and lifestyle changes always seem to start on a Monday, when in reality they start the day you chose to start them. Don't procrastinate! If today really is the day, then start now, do not wait for something to happen for you to change.

I'll be posting tons of motivational posts not only for other's to read but for myself. It's always easier to quit than to keep going but why undo all the effort you put in. Do this for yourself and no one else. Be the person you want to be, the best version of you.

Getting to know me!!

Well hello,

Welcome to my blog :)

As in the description box, this is a weight-loss journey type of blog. I will post my weekly weigh ins, recipes, foods I like/dislike etc. I promise I'l make this as fun as possible for you to read.

Now :) My Story...........

For many years now I have had a problem with my weight and up until May of this year, I done nothing about it. But that has changed in the last few months and I'm so determined to turn my life around. I am in my early 20's and have always felt like the 'fat girl' amongst my family and friends.

I have always been called names and slagged over my weight. Yes sometimes it's funny but most times it is used against me. I have no one to blame but myself, I am the one who got to this size after all.

I am on a calorie controlled diet now and use MyFitnessPal app to track everything. I am in no way affiliated with the app, it is just the one I prefer. My exercise routine is mostly just walking, it's free and I enjoy it so I stick to it. I track my walks using Map My Walk app, again nothing to do with the app, it is just my preference.

So here's my profile. I am 5"2 and 13st 6lbs today. In May, I was 14st 2lbs and very unhappy. I am going to give this weight-loss journey and this blog my best shot. My journey has just begun and of course it will be a struggle but I am a strong person, I will break this cycle.

That's all I am willing to indulge in for today. I will be posting as often as I can so keep checking back for updates :)
